Overview

Bushbuckridge's own 20-year-old Tavern DJ, Ntate J Modise, has just released an EP titled Jeso. This is a prelude to his intricately original full Xitsonga/Pulana/Shona/English/Swati house album coming next year, Intensive J Unit: Tsa Bushi Fela. It is packed with seven hot tracks that comprise of remixes and prequels. It has been given thumbs up by many people who adore the title track Jeso, which creates a joyous anticipation for the Return of the Lord. Beyond the EP is the name of the producer/artist/DJ himself, Ntate J Modise. Below is a brief description.

The Artist

Ntate J Modise is one set of the Makgema Brothers who are using Bushbuckridge as a brand to put the whole planet under siege. He has recently released an EP that is quickly creating waves in Dwarsloop, Thulamahashe, Acornhoek and Shatale. He has won a SAMA Award in advance through the song Jeso, which it is suspected Mkgarimbe might have tried to hijack but has seemingly failed. The EP was released through the independent record label, MegaMak Entertainment, which has self-distributed 257 copies in under four weeks of release. The Makgema business philosophy is that music is a business, and if the creators of the work do not see any profit, they are just in the wrong business. Hence, we would rather sell 10 000 copies in two years and keep all the profit than to sell 300 000 units in one year and keep none of the profits. This is the fatal trend that happens to musicians in the country, all they want is a record deal, while all we want is to make people happy at a profit. This puts value in our work. It is sad to see a famous musician in a taxi after five years of hard work and fame in the treacherous music industry and the same taxi happens to be bumping his track at the amusement of the shocked passengers. Therefore, Makgema Brothers want to create a brand out of three of their first artists: NJM, Jerry Yo A Halalelang and Tshwarelo Eseng. We expect to make at least R5 million out of these three brands in the next three years. The first one out is Ntate J Modise, whose name is caught up in a rapturous cloud of mystery and conspiracy. Hence, we have been forced to reveal The J Conspiracy Theory below.
